Mi pana apartments in esperanza
Located in Esperanza on Vieques, Mi Pana is a vacation rental property with six apartments. It is about a ten minute walk to Sun Bay, the best known of the many beautiful beaches on the island. Mi Pana is a mere five minute walk to the malecon (boardwalk) where there are a number of pleasant restaurants that cater to tourists. The promenade is the place to dance to salsa music or browse the local artisans' stalls. It is also here that you can make reservations for tours of the Bioluminescent Bay.
The name Mi Pana originates from the word 'pana,' which is the Spanish name for the breadfruit tree. 'Mi Pana' also means 'my buddy.' The building has two levels with three apartments on each level. This is an ideal choice for visitors who want to spend from a few days to a week on the island, but prefer the option of cooking their own meals to avoid the expense of dining out for every meal.
The apartments are fully furnished. All bedrooms are equipped with AC. Two of the upper level apartments open onto seperate terraces with hammocks and outdoor furniture for lounging. Two downstairs apartments have a yard area with the same. The front, downstairs apartment (our largest) has a wrap-around porch, also with a hammock and outdoor furnishings. Getting to Mi Pana Apartments & Vieques
Vieques is eight miles off the Eastern coast of Puerto Rico. The plane ride from Ceiba is ten minutes. You must make reservations a few days ahead of time with Vieques Air Link (888-901-9247). You can also take the ferry from Fajardo, which takes one hour and costs $2 for adults and $1 for seniors and children under twelve. Tickets for persons over 75 years old are free. Tickets are sold at the harbor on a first come, first served basis, so plan accordingly. During the busy season and on peak holidays, it is recommended to make the ferry trip on mid-week days or get to the dock very early in order to secure a place in line at the ticket window.

Once the ferry arrives at the Vieques docks, you will see a row of vans parked outside the main gates. These are the publicos that take passengers without vehicles to their destinations. The charge to take guests to the Mi Pana Apartments is $3 per person.
